The short version
- You don’t need an account to play, and we never ask for your name, phone number or address.
- Our games are free and supported by ads. To show and measure ads and to improve our games, our partners Google (AdMob, Firebase) and Unity collect device and usage information.
- On iPhone and iPad, we only access your advertising identifier (IDFA) if you allow tracking.
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
- You can ask us to access or delete your data at any time by emailing support@jumpbox.io.
This Privacy Policy explains how JumpBox (“JumpBox”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you play any of our mobile games (the “Games”) or visit our website at jumpbox.io (the “Website”). It applies to every game published by JumpBox on the Apple App Store, unless a specific game links to a different policy.
By using the Games, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Games.
1. Who we are
JumpBox is an independent mobile game studio. For the purposes of data protection laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), JumpBox is the controller of the personal information processed through the Games.
You can contact us at any time at support@jumpbox.io.
2. Information we collect
Information collected automatically
When you play the Games, we and our partners automatically collect:
- Device information — device model, operating system and version, language, time zone, screen size and, where available, your mobile carrier.
- Identifiers — the Identifier for Vendors (IDFV), a random app-instance ID created by Firebase, and — only if you allow tracking — Apple’s Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
- Network and approximate location — your IP address and an approximate location (country, region or city) derived from it. We do not collect your precise GPS location.
- Gameplay and usage data — sessions, levels played, scores, in-game events, settings, time spent playing and your interactions with ads.
- Diagnostic data — crash logs and performance information.
- Purchase information — if you make an in-app purchase, Apple processes your payment. We receive a confirmation of the transaction (such as the item purchased and a transaction ID), but never your payment card details.
Information you give us
If you contact us — for example by email — we receive your email address, the content of your message and anything you choose to attach (such as screenshots).
Information we do not collect
We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, phone number, postal address, contacts, photos or precise location.
3. How we use information
We use information for the following purposes and, where the GDPR applies, on the following legal bases:
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Running the Games, saving your progress and delivering items you buy | Performance of a contract |
| Understanding how the Games are played and improving them (analytics and testing) | Legitimate interests |
| Detecting and fixing crashes and bugs | Legitimate interests |
| Showing personalized ads and measuring their performance | Consent (and, on iOS, your tracking permission) |
| Showing non-personalized ads, limiting how often you see an ad and preventing ad fraud | Legitimate interests |
| Preventing cheating, fraud and abuse and keeping our services secure | Legitimate interests |
| Answering your support requests | Performance of a contract / legitimate interests |
| Complying with legal obligations | Legal obligation |
4. Advertising
Our Games are free to play and are supported by advertising. We work with the following advertising partners, which collect the information described in Section 2 directly from your device through their software development kits (SDKs). They use it to deliver ads — including ads tailored to your interests (“personalized ads”) where permitted — to measure ad performance and to prevent fraud:
- Google AdMob — Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps that use its services
- Unity Ads and Unity LevelPlay (ad mediation) — Unity Privacy Policy and Unity Game Player & App User Privacy Policy
Through ad mediation, ads may also be served by other advertising networks that work with these partners. Those networks process information under their own privacy policies.
Your advertising choices
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS). iOS asks whether you allow our Games to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, neither we nor our partners will access your IDFA, and you will see fewer personalized ads. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Where required by law, we show a consent message (for example, Google’s User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads are shown. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from the privacy settings inside the game, where available, or by contacting us.
- Even if you opt out of personalized ads, you will still see ads — they will simply be less relevant to you.
5. Analytics and crash reporting
We use Google Firebase, including Google Analytics for Firebase and, where enabled, Firebase Crashlytics, to understand how players use the Games and to find and fix problems. Firebase collects the app-instance ID, device information, gameplay events and crash data described in Section 2. Learn more in Privacy and Security in Firebase.
6. How we share information
We share information only as described in this policy:
- With our partners — the advertising, analytics and crash-reporting providers listed above, and our hosting providers.
- With Apple — for app distribution and in-app purchases, under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- For legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of JumpBox, our players or others.
- In a business transfer — if JumpBox is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- With your consent — in any other case where you have asked us to.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, under some US state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA), allowing advertising partners to collect identifiers for personalized advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. You can opt out at any time as described in Section 9.
7. How long we keep information
- Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months, after which it is deleted or aggregated so that it no longer identifies you.
- Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.
- Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request, and in any case no longer than 24 months.
- Advertising partners retain information according to their own privacy policies linked above.
- Game progress is generally stored on your device and is removed when you delete the game (unless it is included in your device backups).
8. International transfers
Our partners, including Google and Unity, may process information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
9. Your rights and choices
Everyone can ask us to access or delete their personal information, stop data collection by uninstalling the Games, and limit ad tracking as described in Section 4.
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal information; to restrict or object to its processing (including processing based on our legitimate interests); to data portability; to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting earlier processing; and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a resident of California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to access, correct and delete it; to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” and of targeted advertising; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To opt out of targeted advertising, turn off tracking in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, or email us. You may also use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
How to make a request. Email support@jumpbox.io with the subject “Privacy request” and tell us which game you play. Because we don’t use accounts, we may ask for information that helps us find your data (such as your device model and the approximate date you installed the game). We will respond within 30 days, or within the time required by applicable law. For step-by-step instructions, see Delete my data.
10. Children
Our Games are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country, such as 16 in some EEA countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Our website
Our Website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses and technical request data to deliver and secure the site.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If the changes are significant, we will also let you know inside the Games where appropriate.
14. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, email us at support@jumpbox.io.
